Before I tell you more about this opportunity to work with me in our Bible-based cooking program... in case you've never heard of Traditional Cooking School before, here's a quick introduction.
About Traditional Cooking School
I'm the lead teacher and owner of Traditional Cooking School.
I help Christian moms who know they should cook healthy for their family but don't know what to try or where to start... who don't want to spend hours in the kitchen and want their food to still taste great... like I was.
When I was a young mom with three children, we all had issues like food sensitivities and seasonal allergies, but it was especially bad with our third child, our son. He broke out in itchy red rashes all over his body within hours of birth.
The pediatrician gave us a steroid cream but I didn't want to use that because of the side effects. I got rid of all the grocery store cleaners, soaps, and lotions and replaced them with natural ones. That helped a little but still his rashes got worse and he itched so much the rashes bled. I felt like I was letting him and my family down... what was I doing wrong?
Then I learned about some old-fashioned cooking techniques (same ones the Bible mentions). They took less time and weren't as hard as I thought they might be.
We still ate the family favorites we loved, like bread and butter, meat and potatoes, cinnamon rolls and cookies... just healthier!
The best part... within a few months, our son's rashes completely went away.
It's been nearly 20 years now and my seasonal allergies are all cleared up, too, and the kids never got another ear or sinus infection. We rarely get colds or other illnesses. We have plenty of energy and our weight is stable, too.
I've since devoted my life full-time to helping other Christian moms cook healthy for their families through our Bible-based cooking program... without needing to spend hours in the kitchen or being afraid the scale will creep higher from all the good food!
Today our home is filled with so much joy. My husband and I both work from home. Over the years, we homeschooled all 3 kids, then our oldest daughter got married, and... today we have two grandsons visiting regularly, too. I couldn't be happier. <3

Now you probably already know this... food heals, right? It's common sense.
I think most people would agree that diet changes are our first and best defense against sickness and disease.
And, you probably also know that even though most would agree with that... it's still really hard for most people to make meaningful and lasting changes in their diets. :(
Here are the common reasons people fail at eating healthy:
- there's so much conflicting information out there that we become paralyzed and find ourselves unable to take any real steps forward because we don't know what's "right" or even where to start... so we don't do anything!
- some diets seem so crazy and unsustainable... lots of weird, expensive ingredients and then the food tastes so horrible it's hard to last even a day ... much less the long haul!
- some diets don't make any sense with the Bible ...for instance, many years ago, my family tried the no animal food vegan diet but we gave it up because we felt it was contradictory to the Bible's command to eat meat ...not to mention that we didn't feel that great due to the nutritional deficiencies the vegan diet created in us that only animal foods could solve
- meal times turn into a fight... it's the mark of a happy family if everyone is smiling and asking for seconds, right? Yet if everyone's choking down the food, whining, or flat out refusing to take another bite... I don't know about you, but this mom (me) will turn to hearty meat and potatoes every time... because dinner is supposed to be joyful and peaceful and the food we eat goes a long way toward getting that!
The irony is that in our Bible-based cooking program, meat and potatoes are a staple healthy meal (as long as you prepare the right meat and potatoes).
And our program gives you a shortcut around all the difficulties I just mentioned, from making cooking simpler and wholesome, to dinnertime being joyous again, while lining everything up with the Bible and God's plan for healthy cooking.
Step-by-Step Efficient Plan
Our Bible-based cooking program is a step-by-step efficient plan we've created to help Christian families get healthier while still eating what they want to eat...
...without wasting time, energy, or money on any of the crazy diets that most people end up quitting in just a few days!
I'm going to share the exact details and what makes our program so different other healthy cooking plans in just a minute, but first I want to share why our Bible-based cooking program works so well.
See, rather than you spending time sorting through recipes, books, and websites to figure out which approach you should take...
...and the info conflicts anyway....
...or wasting money on specialty ingredients you'll probably never use again...
...our Bible-based program protects your time, money, and energy and gives you simple methods to make the dishes you love healthier (and they still taste great).
And not only do the methods and meals line up with the Bible, many of our students lose weight and get off or reduce their medications, too. (However, we can't give medical advice so you'll definitely want to work with your doctor on that.)
So if all this sounds good to you... then keep reading, because I'm going to show you how to use our methods in your kitchen.
The GNOWFGLINS Way
So to start out, let me explain that we eat and prepare foods according to the GNOWFGLINS way.
So many of our students get an 'aha' moment from learning and embracing GNOWFGLINS (g-NOWF-glinz) in their homes.
And by the way, even though it's a mouthful, no worries if your children end up saying "glow-muffins" or something like that... true story, one of our student's daughters called it that!
GNOWFGLINS is an acronym (created by my husband) that describes our process for delicious, healthy eating...
It's given our family so much joy and healing... from food sensitivities, debilitating seasonal allergies, eczema, tummy troubles, and low energy.
And since we started eating this way (when our children were young), we hardly ever get sick... and our kids have never gotten a single ear infection or other infection since!
GNOWFGLINS combines ALL the keywords that you might find here or there in various books or resources: God's Natural, Organic, Whole Foods, Grown Locally, In Season
...and teaches you how to prepare those foods for the most nutrition and digestion.
GNOWFGLINS are what we eat, and we teach GNOWFGLINS and their preparation to others through our Bible-based cooking program at Traditional Cooking School!
To our knowledge, we are the first to put everything that's important about food together, starting with GOD, into a simple, step-by-step, week-by-week, healthy cooking program where you can still eat the dishes you love... only they're healthier...
...and you'll feel the joy of knowing you're honoring God and His design with every bite!
So if that's something you want... I'm going to walk you through the exact steps right now.
Step 1: Look Up
Step one in GNOWFGLINS is what we call "LOOK UP". It's the G in the acronym.
You see... everything we do, including what we cook and eat, needs to be anchored in truth and align with God's design.
We know that food is medicine, it's our nourishment, and that's by God's design.
Sure, there are diets out there that claim to be "healthy". But when we look closely, we can tell they're not consistent with God's Word.
For instance, take the vegan diet: a person eats no animal foods whatsoever.
Personally, we don't believe this is Biblical. And there's even scientific proof to back this up, such as nutritional deficiencies that can only be solved through animal foods.
So in this step #1 of our Bible-based cooking program (it's the "why" behind the "how"), we check in with the Bible to make sure the food itself or the method of preparing it lines up and makes sense with God's word, His plan, and His character.
Because, otherwise... what's the point?

If you want to live for God and yet are eating apart from His design, there's this feeling deep down inside that we're not being true to Him.
I know for me, before we started eating how I teach, I had a niggling feeling of guilt when I wasn't true to this step. Like I was letting my husband and kids down.
I really, really dislike feeling this way. I want to do my best and I always know deep down whether or not God is happy with my choices and actions.
In this part of the GNOWFGLINS process ("look up"), you'll:
- select the healthiest ingredients for your dishes (meats, fats, grains, sweeteners, veggies, etc.)...
...i.e. foods that are raised and grown according to God's design...
- avoid the pitfalls of the Standard American Diet ...non-nutritious "foods" that didn't exist prior to modern times when people were healthier ... like trans fats, white sugar, highly processed veggie oils, etc. ...
...because God didn't make these foods and eliminating them is essential for managing (or even healing) diabetes, weight gain, heart disease, inflammation, hormone imbalances, skin rashes, allergies, and more!
A quick example of what you might experience when you follow a plan like this that's grounded in truth and God's design... Lisa got off all meds and is down 4 sizes!

Step 2: Step Out (Simple!)
The next part of GNOWFGLINS is what we call "STEP OUT"... or take action.
This step is by necessity simple. Not only is this how I cook myself, I know that most people need simple or it's just not going to be doable day after day.
So in our Bible-based cooking program, we go through the fundamental skills (both how and why) of healthy cooking and I show you how to use simple Traditional Cooking methods to make the meals you love most as healthy as possible... so what you're eating doesn't cause tummy aches, reactions, nutritional deficiencies, or cause weight gain.

I guide you through it all one week at a time. The simple skills build on each other... you'll discover and practice one skill, get comfortable with that one, then add the next.
Within the very first week, you will learn things to help you put healthy, home-cooked meals on the table that your family will LOVE to eat!
